Community Police

Hello and welcome to the first newsletter for Lauder and Earlston and the surrounding area. I’d like to introduce myself as PC Johnstone, your local Community Beat Officer.

I came into post in April this year and I am delighted to be working back in an area that I am familiar with. I grew up locally, and started my police career in Strathclyde before transferring to Lothian and Borders Police in April 2007. Since then I have worked in Portobello, Craigmillar, Duns and Coldstream before arriving here in Lauder.
Hopefully you will have seen me walking or patrolling in the towns and you can find me at
Lauder Police Station should you need to contact me for any community issues or police
matter.
Please see the contacts page at the back of the newsletter for telephone and email details.

I held “Have Your Say” meetings earlier this summer in Lauder, Oxton, Earlston and Redpath and held the winter meetings at the end of November. There are more planned for next year if you haven’t had the opportunity to attend.
These meetings are designed to allow local communities to meet me in an informal way to
discuss any local issues you may have. It allows me to reassure you that I will do my utmost to tackle these issues either myself or with a multiagency approach should it be needed.
Please look out for the next meetings; they are well advertised in the local area.
